We are celebrating Red Ribbon Week this week and being drug free. We will have three themed days: Tuesday is wear red day, Wednesday is wear sweats day, and Thursday is wear your favorite sports team day. Reminder there is no school on Monday and Friday due to conferences.

There is a water main break on Nash Street. For drop off and pick up today, families will need to go past Nash Street to Boise Street. Turn right onto Boise Street. Then turn right onto LaPlante Street. This is a one way street, but we are going to use this street as a two way street to turn around and make sure our drop off and pick up is safe for our students. Thank you to the crew from Station 8. They visited our PK, K, 1st, and 2nd grade students today. They learned about the importance of knowing two ways out, having a meeting spot, working smoke detectors, and that fire fighters aren't so scary in all their gear. Thank you, Sioux City Fire Rescue!
Tomorrow from 9:00am to 11:00, the fire engine from Station 8 will visit Riverside. Classes in preschool through second grade will have a chance to go out, look at the truck, and ask fire fighters questions. Thank you to Sioux City Fire Rescue for visiting our school for Fire Prevention Month.

Good evening. On Tuesday, October 10, Riverside's entryway vestibule area will be used for a primary election for the City of Sioux City. All of this will take place in the front entryway as you enter the building. Voters will not be allowed into the building beyond that point. Additionally a Night Patrol Officer will be at school for extra security. Preschool students will be brought into the front hallway for drop off and pick up because of this. Please call the school office if you have any questions. Thank you!
Good evening, Riverside Families. The weather has turned colder. Please make sure you are dressing your child in layers and sending a coat or a jacket each day. Hats and gloves will be needed soon, as well. Students will go outside for recess unless the real feel temperature is below 15 degrees. Thank you!

Good afternoon, Riverside Families. This message is to notify you that today at 1:05, we practiced an evacuation drill. The state and the school district require this drill every two years. Students walked to our evacuation location parking lot and then returned to school by 1:40. Thank you!
